Membership

Chippenham ASC is a competitive swimming club that aims to develop swimmer ability to the highest possible level. To achieve this our competitive performance squad undertake training sessions at Chippenham and Corsham pools on four evenings each week. Our top (regional/national) squad also attend an additional training session at Bath University (50m pool) once each week.

Although we are not a 'learn to swim' club, places are usually available for those that can correctly swim at least one length in some strokes. If interested, please approach the club using the 'Contact Us' link at the top of this page. Free taster sessions are usually available to assess ability and ensure our club is right for you.

Abilities

Most swimmers start with width classes which encourage familiarity with water and swimming skills.
Swimmers are then encouraged to progress to lane swimming at their own speed.
We hope that swimmers will want to quickly progress to squad training but this is not forced upon anybody who does not wish to do so.

We are a competitive club, among the top performers in Wiltshire with swimmers competing at County, Regional and National level. These rewards come with hard work and dedication.

As swimmers improve, we encourage them to attend more sessions since this improves ability in most cases. If you believe your child would benefit from attending more sessions, please speak with their coach in the first instance who will be pleased to discuss options. Places are often available although this depends on ability.
