Donation from Chippenham ASC Synchro

Following the disbanding of Chippenham ASC Synchro, the monies raised by them originally intended to mend the underwater speaker have been donated to the Electric Eels synchro team.  Founded in 2008 it is the only team to take swimmers with Down's Syndrome from absolute beginners to swimming at a competitive level in both swimming and synchro disciplines.   Lindsay Gibbons, former head coach of the synchro squad said, "It [Electric Eels] seemed appropriate to receive the money we raised".

The money was donated using the 'Go Fund Me' site which added £10.50 to the original donation of £150.00

In response, founder of Electric Eels, Pauline Walker said, " Hi Lindsay,  How very kind of your synchro club to support us. That is so very kind, please thank everyone involved"

In 2018, Electric Eels was named a recipient of the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service, while Pauline was awarded the British Empire Medal in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The club was also named Club of the Year at the Swim England National Awards 2018.
