Matt Cruse

I've been with Chippenham ASC since 2010 when I first joint the club in it's performance squad. I have competed all my life, as a youth I was a regional level swimmer, and as a Masters swimmer I have competed at British and European Championships, as well as winning a National title in the Level X competition during Covid in 100m Butterfly.

I first started competing in Masters with 1 other swimmer at the club, and over the subsequent years encouraged the older performance swimmers to come along. As our success grew the Club decided to support this and formed the Masters squad in 2017. I have led the squad since then and we have continued to grow and succeed, with over 20 members now and back to back County team championships, county records and British Championship medalists. I am a husband and father to 4 children, with my eldest currently in the Academy Squad and it is fantastic to see his passion and friendships develop swimming at this great club. I am looking forward to seeing all my children swim at the club and lead this club into this next chapter as we approach our 150th anniversary
